Study Skills Seminars, 2 hours – $100/student

Students will start the new school year off on the right track with this seminar. We will focus on organization skills, time management, note-taking, test anxiety, and study skills as well as learning styles, stress management, catch-up skills and memorization aids.

These seminars are typically offered the week before school starts or during the first week of school.  If your student needs help with study skills during the school year, we can either work with him or her on a one-on-one basis or set up a group review session for your student and his or her friends.

Contact us to schedule a Study Skills Seminar.

Grammar Workshops

Topics covered include the parts of speech, the sentence (words, phrases, clauses, kinds of sentences), and more.  Students will receive handouts that will be discussed during the workshop and can be kept for subsequent review.  A tentative schedule will be posted as necessary.  Call or email us to sign up.

Writing Workshops

In our Writing Workshops, we work through a book (provided) designed to introduce students to the art of rhetoric.  The purpose of the workshop is to show students how to craft a good essay from start (invention) to finish (revision), and everything in between (organization and style).  Students will write their own essay during the workshop, engage in peer-review of student essays, and have their work edited by the tutor. Students will be able to keep a copy of the text in order to review it on their own.  A tentative schedule will be posted as necessary.  Call or email us to sign up.
