The Tutoring Place is looking for an individual with a degree in elementary education who would like to work with younger students part-time to full-time during afternoons and early evenings. Currently, we mostly provide one-on-one, subject-based tutoring to junior-high and high-school students, but we would like to be able to offer curriculum-based remedial and/or supplemental tutoring to elementary-school students in both one-on-one and group settings. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and largely self-directed. Responsibilities will include working with students, planning for tutoring sessions, developing curriculum, evaluating students’ progress, etc. Pay will be commission-based. Title Test-Prep Director

The Tutoring Place is looking for an individual to work part-time to full-time as a Test-Prep Director. Responsibilities will include administering practice tests, grading practice tests, tutoring students in both one-on-one and group settings, and contributing to the organization and evaluation of our test-prep programs. The Test-Prep Director will also be responsible for marketing our test-prep services and developing school-specific test-prep programs as well as working with test-prep tutors. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and largely self-directed. Our current hours of operation are M-Th 4-9pm and Sun 2-5pm, but the test-prep instructor might be able to work outside of those hours. Applicants must have scored well on standardized tests in the past and be able to tutor all sections of the most common standardized tests. Applicants should also have a bachelor’s degree. The Tutoring Place is looking for a Speech-Language Pathologist to work out of our office in the Park Cities area of Dallas. Most of our students are junior-high and high-school students, but we would like an SLP who will work with younger children. Our current hours of operation during the school year are M-Th 4-9pm and Sunday 2-5pm, but an SLP would be welcome to work outside those hours. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and self-directed. The position would be ideal for someone needing to work part-time or otherwise in need of determining his or her own schedule. The Tutoring Place is located at 6121 Sherry Lane in Dallas, TX, and is open Mondays – Thursdays from 4-9pm and Sundays from 2-5pm during the school year. When school is not in session, we are open by appointment only. More information about The Tutoring Place can be found on this website.

The majority of the tutoring we do at The Tutoring Place is one-on-one and subject-based. Our students most commonly need help in the high-school maths and sciences, but we also have younger students, older students, and students interested in the humanities and social studies. In addition to one-on-one and subject-based tutoring, we also offer group tutoring, summer reading reviews, AP exam reviews, final exam reviews, and test prep. If, after looking over the subjects we typically tutor and the hours we are open, you think you can be a valuable asset to our team, please complete our online application (link below).

If we think you will be a good fit and we have a need for your abilities, we will schedule a day/time for you to come in for an (informal) interview. After a successful interview, we will try to work you into our schedule. Please note that you will not be considered an employee of The Tutoring Place until you have completed at least one tutoring appointment.
